Both are illegal. You are more likely to be prosecuted if you share the music though.

It is not even legal to download the music as a backup for music you already own. If you need a backup you must generate it from your own music collection.

Both. The person downloading is getting the copyrighted music without paying for it and therefore technically stealing it. The person sharing it is giving away copyrighted music which they don't own the copyright to and do not have the legal right to give away so they stealing it also.

You know that Downloading/Sharing is illegal if you do not pay it is stealing .

If somebody took your wallet that had $200 out of your pocket would you consider it stealing or sharing ?
