I get offended hearing other black people say it! A lot of black people are offended because when a white person ( and other ethnicities) say it, they say it as a means of hurting or putting someone down like the old days, they mean to hurt. This only bothers black people because they had the nerve to say it in front of them. Black people say it like it's a term of endearment ( which I totally disagree with), not all black people say it either. I would never call another black man that word, I have too much respect for him!

It is a part of taking back the power of the word.
Years ago, that word (our famous "N word") was only used derogatorily toward African Americans by insensitive white people. When Blacks started calling themselves that name, with humor, with respect, with affection, it could no longer be used as a hate tool. Still, black people do not wish to be called the N-word by any others but those of their own race.
The same it true as the word FA ggot. Gays took back the power of the word and will call themselves FA ggot, but outsiders should not...

i actually dont like the word, but it isnt that whites hurt our feelings but its about respect.
also its like you are allowed to make fun of your own family member, but is it ok for me to do that? no i didnt think so
black people called eachtoher ****** to try and take away the sting and effect the word had on them. it really used to hurt blacks feelings. my grandma despises that word so i try not to use it
i want to know why some whites want to use that word? and their are some blacks who dont care if white people use it
EDIT: until people stop using it as a racist word then u cant say it, so get mad at the klan not me
