I have a 4 month old baby boy who I had to conceive using artifical insemination. I started trying to lose weight about 1 month ago, using a 1100 calorie diet, and it worked for about 2 weeks, then this last two weeks, I haven't lost an ounce. I haven't had a period in two months, but that doesn't throw up any flags for me because I never have regular periods. However, in the last couple of days, I have started to get weird twinges in my stomach, but higher up than I would think "quickening" would be and too early. My husband and I have only had intercourse about 4 times since my son was born, but I am not using anything, and I realize that it does only take one time. Anyone with any opinions out there?

Yes, you could be pregnant. Take a test to find out for sure.

I sure hope you are not breast feeding and living on that low of calories. You need more calories than that. Why dont you just eat better foods and get some kind of exercise in 3 or 4 days a week. You can do this all at home. I will include a sample diet.
If you are having unprotected sex, than yes you can be pregnant. You should really try to protect yourself if you dont want to get pregnant right away. You need to heal your body from just having a baby first. I would recommend going to the Dr.s for a check up. Just to make sure everything is alright.......good luck

Here is a good sample to follow for meals.

5 eggwhites
1 cup spinach scramble

1 bowl of oatmeal 1pckt
1/2 cup raspberries

4 oz tuna
tomatoes, onion, cucumbers
light italian dressing

1 cup cottage cheese
1 tablespoon natural peanut butter
1 apple

3 oz chicken breast
1/2 cup brown rice
1/2 cup peas

Of course you could be pregnant, but it could also be a million other things. Usually if you haven't had even one period yet, you haven't started ovulating since your last pregnancy. Plus if you're breastfeeding, then it's also a slim chance that you're pregnant. You should definitely take a pregnancy test & get to the doctor to have your symptoms checked out. Good luck to you!

Are you breastfeeding? That could have some effect. As well as the fact that you're trying to lose weight. If you are not usually regular it's possible that this is just your "normal" cycle. You're right though, it does only take once. How long was your longest cycle? I'd wait till then to do a test. And watch your cycle and symptoms to see what happens.

if you don't eat enough and take in enough calories, your body thinks it's being starved and hangs on to every calorie it gets. go to the doctor, because anything is possible.
