I fear it so much, i take NO chances. I'm not just talking about with guys (although that's included too), I'm talking about with anything. If i need something, i will NEVER ask...i feel so stupid when i get a negative answer..I lose lots of opportunities because of it...

How do I get over that?

dontthink about "what if they say no?" focus on the "what if they say yes?" think positive.
if you dont try youll never find out. think about what would happen if you didn't get rejected...wouldnt it be wonderful? do you really want to miss out on that?
good luck! hope you overcome this 0:-)

The next time you are reluctant to talk to a guy or ask for something, ask yourself "what's the worst that could happen?" Usually, the actual consequences of rejection are nothing to fear. If the guy doesn't want to go out with you or whatever, then so what? Their are plenty others. If people really care about you, they will do everything in their power to help you in your time of need. Sure, rejection happens, but its not the end of the world. If anything, rejection helps you to better figure out how to get what you want by telling you what not to do.

If you take my advice and the problem persists, perhaps you should talk to your doctor. You may have some form of social anxiety disorder and there are specific medications and therapeutic techniques used to treat it.

REJECTION? What if you did good in your entire life for all others and when it came time to get any verbal support from them, they rejected you, and even killed you? Jesus had that happen to Him! Well, we could say, "Wow, really nice people we helped", right? But we could suggest that we can do much good for others and I am sure we will, in this life, or the next life, be given our rewards! Some reject us; some do not. Look at how many diverse beliefs there are in the world; I mean the philosophical as well as religious beliefs! Many will not accept us for our beliefs, whatever they maybe! You could be one that rejects! The Bible says not to fellowship with the world or marry those who do not know Christ! Think about that! God, Himself, sets restrictions on who we can accept as a lifetime partner! He rejects no one that accepts His Son, but He knows what it would be like for those who marry outside His Church. Who is His Church? He said those that follow Him are His, so it is ANY church that claims Christ and does what He says to do in the Bible. So, we cannot marry others who do not know Christ. We reject those for a wife or husband because we want to obey. Jesus won't reject you if you ask forgiveness of sins and ask Him into your heart and will never leave you! Good to know and good to have Him in our heart! A girl may, but He will not and He will help you find that right girl if you know Him! God bless. Earl

In school, with friends, with family, with guys, with jobs--in life in general--everyone gets rejected at some time or other. No one is perfect, so no one always is accepted as right.

You can't live your life taking NO chances--life is about taking chances--many people get ahead taking chances.

When you need something--ask for it!!! The worst someone can say is that they don't have what you need--so, ask someone else.
Someone is bound to have what you need.

What do you tell people when they ask you for something? I imagine that if you help them, and treat them well, they will do the same for you.

Maybe you've experienced such a horrendous trauma in your past where you were rejected by some people inside your family community. But fear of rejections usually derive from our past. Something unsolved in our past unconsciously made us so uneasy for facing rejections.
I do too have the same fear now in my life where I feel so jitters for rejection and refusal since I was completely rejected by my own biological parents before in my past. So that adds up and explains why I have fears for that. So I guess, in my opinion, maybe you can review and analyze your past for that as well.

Realize that you will do fine with your life and life is just a trip and every day is a new adventure. Do not worry about failure. You cannot succed with out failure. Look at sports teams. In baseball they play 162 games a year and even the best teams lose 50 to 60 games a year. Your life will be fine just do your best.

I just think you should throw all caution to the wind and just ask out people you are not even truely interested in. That way even if they say no, your not really loosing anything.

to get over it ... you must put in your mind there is always .... YES and NO..... first put yourself instead the other : you say yes? always to people? if your answer is yes...... then mean you must change your point of VIEW and learn when u say yes and when you say no!!!!!!!! to people and if your answer is no then mean you must accept things as it comes there is always the positive and negative in life................ and sometimes the NO mean not now.......put this in your mind too.
