Yes, the only thing objectionable about prostitution is that they do not have to pay income tax. Legalizing it will benefit he industry not only for the protection of the men and women who work in the sex trade, it will also protect the patrons. Legalization would mean that a prostitute would be able to report abuse without fear of being charged, brothel ans bawdy houses would act as a safe and legal place to work.
Also a rigid licensing system would require regular testing and treatments in order to continue working in the trade, protecting the patron.

One answerer stated that the government should stay out of our lives, but if prostitution were made legal....duh...then the prostitutes would be paying taxes to the IRS...how does that leave the government out of it? Then the little hookers wouldn't be makin as much cash, now would they? see, things like marijuana and prostitution aren't legal because of the government control and regulation problems that would occur......that's the only reason....

I believe it should be legal. Prostitutes perform a service to the society, just like any service industry. The demand is certainly there and if properly regulated, it could bring in plenty of tax revenue. Legalizing it would help to reduce the spread of disease by mandating health checks and reducing the use of illegal drugs. There is no "victim" except the wife of the married "john" who would be victims of these cheaters anyway.

The majority of men who use a prostitute's services are either married or attached ... so why not?! And if it were legal - those men would say "Well I don't have to pay for it at home, so why don't you just give it to me for free too?" It's true, why not?

I say YES... not because I want anything to do with it, but I believe everything that does not hurt someone else should be legal and the government should stay out of our lives. What consenting people do should be only their business! And pros is like pot... they keep trying, and wasting money on it, but it can never be stopped so why should it be?

I'm in favor. It seems to have worked out well enough in those countries where it is. And it seems rather pointless to outlaw something that people are going to do anyway. Legalizing it would probably make it easier for people who want to leave the sex trade to do so, such as by getting counseling.

Yes. And heavily regulated to prevent the spread of disease. It is legal in some places in Nevada already.
I don't understand why it's legal to sleep with someone for free, but if they slip you some cash it suddenly becomes illegal. Odd.
