Based on statistics, easily Rivera. I despise the Yankees but Rivera is really good.

Postseason Records Held/Statistical Leader in
>Career postseason Saves =34
>Career World Series Saves =9
>Career postseason 2-inning saves =12
>Career postseason ERA = 0.80
>34 Consecutive scoreless postseason innings
>23 Consecutive postseason save conversions

I'd say he's a good choice for best all time.

It is Mariano Rivera, hands down. Eckersley? He had some success, but is best remembered for giving up Kirk Gibson's blast in '88. Rivera's postseason ERA is well under 1.00 in over 100 innings. He has blown a few saves, but compared to all the success he's had, it doesn't taint his accomplishments at all. He overwhelmed the Braves as Wetteland's set up man in '96, recorded a couple of saves against San Diego in '98, and saved all four games against the Braves in '99. The guy is a post season machine. Has he been perfect? No, but considering all the chances he's had, he had to blow a few. Mariano is the best, and if the Yankees ever go deep into the playoffs again, he will show that.

Oakland A's a million) Pitching A-. the only project preclude me from giving them an A is using the fact they kinda tailed off commencing sensible in September. yet heck they are throwing 5 rookie starters obtainable. i think of they are nonetheless first in era interior the yank League. 2) Batting- B+ we've been so grasp all 365 days long. particular we strikeout plenty, yet we additionally hit quite some homers and that i cant whinge. Oddly sufficient, i think of if the A's are going to pass far interior the playoffs, they are gonna do it with their bats greater desirable than the rest. 3) Bullpen A+: Cant say something greater approximately our bullpen. it style of sounds like all youngster we throw obtainable have an era interior the mid 2s. cook dinner, Balfour, Doolittle, Scribner, Blevins and the record sjust is going on. 4) closer- A cook dinner replaced into great interior the 1st a million/2 then hit a bump. Balfour have been suitable for us considering he took over. 5) coping with- A+ Bob Melvin merits the coach of the 365 days. 6) common grade for the season. An A+ for the A's. I dont comprehend what greater they'd have needed different than possibly taking the variety a million seed interior the AL. yet heck that they had a 9 interest dropping streak on the commencing up of the 365 days and bounced back. great season.

Mariano Rivera of the Yankees would be the logical answer. Although in his early years he was the setup man for John Wetteland. In my opinion this was the greatest pitching duo. The starter only needed 5 or 6 innings, then Mariano would come in for 2 innings, and Wetteland would close.

I don't mind saying Rivera because the fact is that the Angels always manage to find a chink in his Armor, the last 2 times they met in the playoffs, Rivera couldn't stop the better team from moving on. But he's still the save-iest closer in playoff history so I give him his props.
