Kelp is a sea weed, that is full of iodine, it has an amazing effect in the thyroid, which it controls, weight and body temperature, if you have a low hormone producing thyroid, you might also have mild depression. The unique property of kelp is that it will work on both low thyroid or an overproducing one. I have used kelp for years and I has helped me to lose weight, keep it of as well as to combat the winter blues and it also helps me with concentration. I take about 600mg a day, but you might want to go to your local health food and see what it is available there... I found no side effects, you should not take it if pregnant or developing(teenager) because it does work on a hormonal gland.

I've tried many diets and couldn't make anything work. Since having my first child, I've been carrying around an extra 30 pounds. This diet just made sense and showed me that everything I was doing before was wrong and a waste of my time.
The plan was so refreshing and so simple to follow. I did everything plan said and lost 23 pounds in the first three weeks. I'm now starting the diet again to lose 7 more pounds. This plan has changed my life.
Get started today!

Hi - Kelp helps to speed up the thyroid glands...a low thyroid can be the reason that people gain weight as this gland is the basic gate keeper of the weight regulation hormones such as T3 and T4. Hope that helps...there should not be any reprocussions as long as you do not have a pre-existing contraindicated condition.

They could. Kelp helps to boost the output of a sluggish thyroid gland which has a lot to do with how you metabolize the food you eat. If your thyroid is not sluggish, I dont see kelp pills being of much benefit other than as a health food supplement.

kelp is a sea plant that is a natural diuretic. what this means is that it gets rid of water in the system. if your excess weight is caused by water retention then i guess it would help but if your weight is mainly fat then you would be wasting your money buying the pill. i don't know what the pill is like as i haven't used it but i sure if it does work at all it would have the same function as the plant
