I am going to the Marina Luz hotel, Can Pastilla Majorca in June. I have been to Majorca many times but never to this area. Has anyone ever been with info/tips about the resort or hotel

Hi there
Majorca is a lovely island for a holiday and June is a lovely time to go- well done you for choosing it!
Congratulations on booking The Marina Luz. It has to be (in my opinion) one of the best 3 star hotels on the island.
It is located right on the beach, the hotel offers fantastic views and an oceanside pool for relaxing. The views from your room on the sea front, across the water to Palma and the Cathedral and Castle are fantastic. This has been an all English hotel for many years now and lots of newly made friends return again year after year. The beach outside the hotel is rocky and untouched but you can dip into the water via the rocks and swim or snorkel. Alternatively a few minutes walk left along the front from the Hotel will take you into C'an Pastilla and onto the main beach which stretches through Playa de Palma and onto Arenal. Buses are plentiful if you are not a walker.

The pool is lovely and you can see it being fully cleaned each morning. When we visited the pool was a bit on the cool side but ok once in it.
Hotel rooms are similar in size to most rooms here and abroad but very clean and well presented. The air-con in rooms works very well and the beds are very comfortable.
Food- this is possibly the best part of the stay as there is a massive range to choose from each morning and evening. Something for everyone. Best of all, the food was cooked and presented well and being buffet style you can have as much as you want.
Entertainment from 10am till 11pm was good and varied.

C'an Pastilla is a very clean and tidy resort with brilliant beaches and walkways. There is a popular bicycle lane running alongside the beach so be careful oncoming bikes when crossing this lane.
There are many small bars whuch are friendly and relatively cheap. There's plenty of restuarants around if you do want to eat out , I particularly recommend the Tavern run by Bernard for friendly welcome and just a short walk from the hotel with good views of the bay of Can Pastilla.

The staff at Marina Luz can't do enough for you- they really are excellent.

You should be aware if you are not already that C'an Pastilla is on the flightpath to Palma airport. With some 5000 aircraft using Palma airport at weekends, you will soon become avid plane spotters I promise. This did not detract from our holiday though and you should not let it deter it from enjoying your holiday either for I am sure you are going to have a very nice time.

All the best!
