Call the local hardware store and find out the price of the water heater that allows for constant hot water.It is like a coil that the water runs threw to heats constantly.They are pricey but only heat when the hot water is needed.Tell him that he takes too long and you do have hygiene needs too.If you can't shower first every morning, then you are going to buy this for Fathers Day----EARLY.Good luck...

Sorry I had to giggle a little that you have actually considered hiring a sitter just to take a shower. But I have been there with my sorry **** ex. I think it is pretty sad that you have to take a cold shower because your husband wants to take forever in there. That is pretty selfish in my opinion. It is important to SHARE. And he needs to see that you can take a shower with him there so that he can keep an eye on the children! I would seriously be pissed. What if you went first and then he can shower and get out when he runs out of hot water. Instead of him going first and you not getting to take a hot shower at all. I am sorry and I do hope you get it worked out. Good luck!!!

You should shower together . Its nice & sometimes mid day take a hot bath so you can have your time alone, Get a bigger hot water tank . MIne last through 4 long showers before it gets cold. You can also turn your temp up then shower w/ him That will help.I love being clean, sometimes in the summer I take 3 a day..

If it hasn't sunk in by now, don'g nag him any more about it. He probably needs the time to unwind from a hard day or to prepare mentally for the tasks he faces. Instead, try to be loving and understanding and try to adapt. Consider the following suggestions:
(1) Get up earlier and take your shower first;
(2) Shower with him (it's fun and romantic);
(3) Get a bigger water heater; and
(4) Get a "tankless" water heater...it heats water instantly and you don't have to worry about the tank refilling and reheating.
Good luck!

Either get a bigger hot water heater or get an on demand water heater. On demand hot water heaters aren't very much more than the regular ones and they save you money also because they only heat the water you need. It doesn't keep many gallons hot all the time like regular ones do. We had 7 kids in our family when I was growing up and when my dad finally got an on demand hot water heater all of our shower problems were fixed!!

In the grand scheme of things, this isn't something to get worked up over. Give him his shower time and take your shower at another time of day - is it possible to hop in the shower before him?
My husband takes long showers too but he gets up several hours before I do. At least he's clean and doesn't stink!

first of all a dude who is that into his shower is a little weird, but if he insists on being a water hog then tell him to move his *** over you need hot water too. You can probably shower and be out of there before he is done staring at himself, or whatever it is he is doing in there. Share the love, share the water. if he wont shower with you, then he is just too weird.

Your problem is simple....get a demand water heater..it has no tank and will pump out continous hot water indefinately....in addition to this also put in another shower..the demand water heater will keep up with both (and you can run a dishwasher and washing machine) at the same time.

Listen, either wake up earlier and take a shower, join him in the shower, which I hate doing with my husband, but of course he does. We also installed a doubel shower head, so we both can been in there together and have hot water. OR, keep flushing the toilet until he comes out of there. Please women, you making this into a big deal. Take a shower in the middle of the day.I would put the kids ina play pen and do so. You can do it...

i have to say when i heard him get up in the morning i would jump in with him and say "i figured this was the only way i would get a hot shower, beside with you it mostly goes down the drain." do what you need to do, get out and leave him in there. at leastyou got warm water. it might be a big enough hint to him, too.
