I am interpreting winter with a classical song to go along with some winter drawings of mine. And, I think of loneliness, desolation, sadness, but beauty at the same time. Anyone think of any classical songs? I've already thought of Vivaldi-Four Seasons. But, I'm not really in tune with classical stuff so any feedback is appreciated! Thanks!

THE BEST sad classical song is Adagio for Strings by Samuel Barber. It's the theme from Platoon (with Charlie Sheen).

Best ever

Adagio from Gayane by Aram Khachaturian is also very melancholy. Of course, there are sad sounding pieces of "classical" music in a lot of contemporary modern epic films like the Lord of the Rings trilogy as well.

Well, what I think of isn't really considered classical but if you need something sad try some ENYA or some ENIGMA. Those two usually have sad themes...try them! And you can download free from limewire.com or kazaa.com to check it out!
