The pancreas secretes digestive enzymes such as amylase, protease, carbohydrase, lipase etc. However these are also found in the saliva, so why do we need them again. Enzymes are really sensitive to pH, temperature etc, and the strong HCl in the stomach denatures them, therfore they are made in the pancreas which is found just behind the stomach to keep digesting the food after the stomach. The liver produces bile which is used to break up lipids. The bile is delivered to the start of the small intestine (more specifiacally bile duct) by the gall bladder.
