On Sat. i started having cold like symptoms-runny nose, congestion, headache, chills, fever (only had one night) and ache. Im starting to feel better in general, my nose seems to be drying up, and not as runny but im still congested. I was going to go to the doctor but im hearing that antibiotics wont really help a cold plus other than the fact that im still congtested im feeling a little better and dont want to go if i dont HAVE to. Is there something that i can take that would clear up my congestion so im not so stuffy and sound congested when i talk?? Im going to visit family this weekend and i really want to be better. Thanks!

A nasal saline solution will take care of the problem of the dry nose. It will also help your sinuses by clearing your sinuses of old mucus. You can use it as often as needed. Ibuprofen will shrink the swelling of your nasal passages. It work for me every time.

Good luck!

Try a saline nasal RINSE (not a spray) A full warm water saline rinse goes in one nostril and out the other. It draws out all the gunk and shrinks the tissue (like swimming in the ocean).
The buffered salt doesn't 'sting' as much as plain salt water. You can use a new method like Nasopure, or the vintage, Netipot

You can do this a often as you like with no side effects.

You don’t need a prescription for this therapy. If you live in a state like mine, they’ve pretty much “outlawed” sudafed medicine. Drug-free is really the way to go on a frequent-use basis.

Afrin nasal spray. I promise you it will clear you up in minutes. Just make sure you only use the reccomended dosage, otherwise it could cause some dependency. It will clear you up better than anything, and won't give you a foggy feeling like cold meds.

Antibiotics do not work for colds and other viral things. Go to the pharmacy and buy some Sudafed. You can get it over the counter but you have to ask the pharmacist for it as they keep it behind the counter now as to many people were buying it to make meth.
