Your best option is to have them shipped by a freight forwarder. Forwarders negotiate favorable freight rates with airlines and steamship lines based on their consolidated volume. They mark up their contract rates to you, their customer. They will handle all the export/import procedures, customs clearance and local delivery for you. There are many forwarders out there. Simply do a google search, call a few companies and compare their price quotes. Info you should prepare to give them include: detailed description of the item you are importing, name and address of the supplier, specific final destination, FOB value of the goods (your cost), physical dimensions of the shipment (how many cartons? size of each carton, size of master carton - this info should be provided by your supplier), and the estimated date the supplier will be ready to deliver the goods to the forwarder's office or local agent in China. Btw, if you need help with financing, sourcing, vendor selection, quality control, logistics or any other issues related to your China business feel free to call me at 212-847-7175. I am a China sourcing/importing specialist. I can also give you tips on ways to lower your costs. Good luck!
