It is...our President thinks he can do anything...start a war, spy on his people, torture prisoners...I think it's time to impeach the bastard!
Good luck over there, "across the pond."

Your question has been posted on Yahoo UK & that's where I and most of us who see this are.
It's a shame when people say bad things about each other for no reason.
But its a far greater shame when govts & other organisations try to make your opinion (or the voicing of it) punishable. This truly does capture the single worst part of every vicious regime that litters our violent past.
If only we could learn to be permissive of people who have different views from our own.

People cant turn on the tv without hearing someone critizing Bush. The thing about free speech and the 1st ammendment is the administration pushing leglislation that allows the government to gather information without a warrant.

It's not illegal in the US to critisize the president. It's practically the national sport (#2 right behind American Football) and it doesn't matter who the president is at any given moment. And it doesn't matter if he's in your party or the other party.
Now, you can be arrested for threatening the life of the president, but you can also be arrested for threatening the life of the wino on the corner.

I read about a church that was being investigated for tax evasion after the minister publically denounced the president and the Iraq war.

That hasn't happened here, no. I fear what would happen with control in this country if we were the victims of another large-scale terror attack, however. Fear is a powerful tool, not just for acknowledged terrorists.
