All of the newer GSM network (T-mobile/Cingular) phone have SIM (Subscriber Identity Module) cards in them. If they are more than a few years old they may not have removale SIM card.

Networks that use CDMA (Sprint/US Cellular) don't use removeable SIM cards. In order to move numbers between phones they have to do what they call an "ESN swap". You can usaully do this over the phone with customer service in 5-10 minutes, or you can take it to a store and have them do the swap for you.

FYI.... this has noting to do with saving contacts.

alot of cingular phones have sim cards but some of the really olds one dont lol my mom had one of thos till it broke and she got a new one with a sim card all the cell phone compays are now like that with sim cards hope that helped you just a lil
