I am not too knowledgeable about dreams and their symbols. here is what I was told and read: (of course, there are various interpretations. You can judge the one that best apply to your dream)
i heard dreaming about death can signify change in one's life. Its basic meaning: The old is dying; make way for new beginnings.
Were you actually killed in your dream? Do you remember who the people chasing you were?
Sometimes, having a dream involving death row can symbolize something that has reached its time and needs to be issued (i.e., inner conflict)
It could also mean that at the moment, you feel controlled or repressed (jail symbol) seek freedom but at the same time afraid to re-claim yourself (being chased to be killed or to have the opportunity to change a situation since death=change)

Though I don't believe in dreams and my dreams become completely opposite, eastern belief in death of someone in your dream meaning the age of that person who died in dream will be increased in real life. I also found this from MSN dream dictionary (link below) that death in your dream means: 1. An imminent transition, perhaps a move, or change of job or lover. 2. An impending death in the world of the dreamer—usually a relative, friend, or admired public figure. The dreamer's death, however, is never shown. 3. The need for change in some department of the dreamer's life. As to what: Watch for other symbols in the dream. Astrological parallel: Scorpio. Tarot parallel: Death.

most old wives tales say if you dream about a death or a dead person it means a birth and the opposite for dreaming about a birth. but in your dream you may be dreaming about bill collectors chasing you. dreams can mean so much, it is your sub-conscious mind going crazy after your brain is at rest. I could probably write some crazy books with my dreams, but I have also had premonition dreams that have come true, if I have a dream that feels like I have lived it then I tell the person that I had the dream about, I just had a dream that my nephew came home with the baby and I asked where his wife was and he said she died from an infection from her miscarriage, This was so real that I call my niece and told her about it and she did have an appointment she was going to cancel, but she went and she had a major infection left from her miscarriage this past August.

If you are dreaming that you are dying, it represents a part of yourself or something in your life that you are trying to let go of; you are trying to release some sort of negativity in your life and kill it off, hence the word "death" It has absolutely nothing to do with physically dying or getting killed. It is actually a positive thing as it means you are emotionally growing!

All experiences leave impressions on the mind. Some are strong, some are weak. Some return in our dreams, some as likes or dislikes, daydreams, fears, or desires. If you pay attention to your dreams you will understand what is making an impact on your consciousness while in the waking time.
Ask yourself - why is it that when you're awake you think you're awake and when you're asleep you think you are awake? What would happen if you tried thinking you were dreaming when you are awake...?

I think it may mean death fascinates you immensely, because you are afraid you may not accomplish something in life now before it is your time. That is just my opinion...
