It's simply that it's inaccurate to call the Democratic Party the Democrat Party. It has always been called the Democratic Party. Democrats see it as a Republican jibe, since Republicans will often intentionally use the name "Democrat Party" for this purpose. It would be like calling the the Irish something like "Irishers."

Republicans are having fun with the fact that Democrats have never been referred to as the Democratics, therefor why call them selves the Democratic party? This ignores the historical record which shows Republicans have never been for any true system of democracy in what they would prefer to believe is still, and should be, an upper class dominated society. The irony being, of course, that its present supporters tend to be, in the main, lower class religious ignoramuses.

I don't really understand that either; it's a simple mispronunciation. It's not like someone called them Communist, as they are so fond of calling conservatives fascists.
