Could he be the one to get them far in the playoffs? The trade rumors are flying and i heard that they are close to a deal with the Nets. If you're a Laker fan, would you rather have Kidd or Kevin Garnett teaming with Kobe?

i do not think he is. the style that phil jackson plays is the trangle offense. and in that offense you dont need a point guard like kidd to run it. smooth parker does just fine. what they need is for their team to get healthy for the playoffs

Not A Laker Fan But I'd Rather Get KG Over Kidd. Kidd Is Gettin Old And It'll Jus Be Another Ball Hog Who Will Take Shots From Kobe. They Need KG So Kobe Can Feed It Down In The Block If Kobe Will Actually Share.

NOOOOOO, Jason Kidd is not the missing piece. First of all, the Lakers have missing pieces. One they need a good large center that can score, rebound and play defense. Second they need someone to be a playmaker and a floor leader for the team. That could be Jason Kidd. Thirdly, and probably most importantly, they need an SG/SF who can take over from Kobe and still hold the team somewhat, while Kobe is resting or injured, and if the Lakers get either one they still won't that far into the playoffs becuase they need the other also.

I think that the Lakers would be better off with Kevin Garnett teaming up with Kobe Bryant as that's what they need an inside outside combination that commands respect form other teams especially in the postseason as the tempo of the games tends to slow down. Jason Kidd is an awesome point guard don't get me wrong but i think that the Lakers would be better off acquiring a big man.

I'm not really a laker Fan I more of a Kobe Bryant Fan and having Jason Kidd possibly going to L.A. to team up with Lamar Odom and Kobe Bryant definately screams Western Conference Finals if not NBA Finals that is exactly what that lakers team needs is a real point guard to distribute the ball and push the ball up the court on the fastbreak, I gurantee you if j Kidd goes to the Lakers with Kobe on that team kidd's assists will definately go up and a little bit more pressure will be off of Kobe now that he wouldn't have to handle the rock as much, he can let j Kidd set him up some nice plays, I'm crossing my fingers and hoping that this trade goes thru but for some reason I don't think it will, it's just too good to be true.

I think that on most teams, I would prefer Kidd as he is much better in my book than KG.

That said, the Lakers run the triangle offense where Kobe is the ballhandler for much of the time - a "true" PG like Kidd isn't necessarily needed. Couple that with the big men injuries and inconsistency the Lakers have suffered from and KG is a better fit for them.

The Nets could be stupid to commerce Kidd for the gamers everybody is asserting they could. i think of they could get many greater valuable commerce gives you for Kidd. The Nets could have tried to try this commerce formerly, no longer below 2 days formerly the commerce time shrink. i think of the Nets could make a stupid determination and commerce Jason Kidd to the Lakers. How will Jason Kidd experience next year whilst he's sitting on the bench interior the all-celebrity observing Steve Nash start up?

no jason kidd can't even get close for helping LA to the playoffs. its the fact, kidd sucks. if i was a laker fan, i would rather have kevin garnett because the lakers already have smush parker and its not like kidd is going to be on the starting lineup, so he can't help them. they need kg because they don't have such a good forward/center. kg would be perfect and the missing peice to the lakers puzzle

He would benefit the Lakers in more than one aspect. For one, he is the closest one to the next Mr. Triple Double. That means he not only has offensive vision, but rebounding ability as well. Also to have a point guard grabbing at least 7 boards a game is MONSTER. Finally, he provides a veteran presence that the younger players can learn from.

the lakers are missing a few pieces.

And I'd rather have garnett, but kidd is amazing.
