Pressing Ctrl+Alt+Delet will bring up task manager which shows your cpu usage and network connection
you can also open command prompt and typr cd to find info about your local disk. typing "tree" will show you the program roots of your system and "dir" will display some local directory info. you can type"regedit" and that will bring up some info on your computers registry. For help just type "help" in the command prompt. Hope that helps.

One of the handiest tools that will, in essence, take an x-ray of what's "inside the box" and give you lots of technical information about the hardware in your computer, and the software installed in your computer is Belarc Adviser.

Go to http://www.belarc.com and download and install their free tool, run it, and print-out the report it generates. You can learn a lot from this report and thereafter possibly investigate driver updates, hardware capabilities, and software information.

It's a great place to start to get important specifications about your computer.

Good Luck
