1GB can hold approximately 240 four-minute songs at a standard quality. Depending on how big your current music library is, this could work or not work for you. Be aware that once you get a new MP3 player you'll probably want to discover and buy more music, which means you need more space.

The iPod Shufffle has no screen, is $80, and holds 250 songs/1GB. This could work for you, or not. I recommend the iPod Nano which has either 2GB, 4GB, or 8GB (8GB has up to 2,000 songs), and is super-thin - starting at $150 for 2GB, and $250 for 8GB. I have the 8GB iPod Nano, and it's great. But that's just the iPod - there are other music services out there.

And if 8GB isn't enough for you, there's the $250 30GB iPod (with video), and the $300 80GB iPod (with video)

A gig is a gig is a gig. a number of that "Gig" is utilized in "living house holding", yet has little to do with the fact that MP3 (0r 2) are compressed song records. Few songs are of the comparable length. some "tracks" would be as low as 2.5 min's and a few would be over 4 min. So, at suitable, your answer is basically going to be an trouble-free. frequently, 3 hundred or so is approximately suitable.
