The overall value depends on the condition of the toy and box itself. If the toy was unopened and also the box is in perfect condition, you would probably get $500+. If the toy has been opened and was used, it will be less. A gently used G1 Optimus Prime generally sells around $100-$500 depending on the exact release version of the toy and if all the parts/stickers are present. Take the toy down to your local comic book/hobby shop to see if they will resell or purchase the toy.

You can go to a nearby examiner who will check your prized possession and give you a value for it. Not sure where you may find one, but there ought to be at least one within 1000 miles of your location. There is possibly a website online that you can find the value. Or, even better, you can put it up as auction on ebay and see how high the price goes. If you do not like the amount then cancel the auction.

Look it up on eBay. You'll get a general idea of its value.
