Its not what they want its what they have been programmed to want. Human instinct is to procreate, the rest falls naturally or unnaturally into place, by that I mean when we are on the 'hunt' we look for a suitable mate one that reflects everything we could want in the opposite sex, but reality kicks in because we all come from different households and learn all we do from our parents and their parents before them which may not be the same as your partners. Hence the conflict.

well, I'm assuming your talking about an intimate relationship. So what would one want with a significant other besides sex? Friendship, designated driver, a life partner, support system, basically companionship.
What does a man want from a woman when it's a non-intimate relationship? a Job, good leadership, good advice, just about anything really.

A lot of moaning (not from sex).

Constant mentioning of having a headache.
Always moaning that nothing is done (who was at home all day then?).
Making lists of jobs they want done after you have been working all day.
