We have a UK and a US laptop. All that is needed is a universal plug adaptor for each. The laptops have their own voltage adaptor to DC.They can be plugged into any voltage supply up to 220V so long as you can adapt the plug to fit the foreign socket.
Laptops are made(in China?) for a world market-you can even change it's language if you know what you are doing.

Look at your power brick. If it indicates 100 (or 110) to 240 volts and 50-60 Hz then there should be no problem. Mains wall sockets can vary, so you will need a converter plug. You might also need a converter plug for a telephone socket, if you want to use dial-up Internet.

you will need a 120v to 220v converter. You can find it for about 4 or 5 dollars at your local hardware store.
