Bridget Jones Diary, its better than the movie and had me LOL! I suppose it depends upon your mood though. Try it, I dont particularly enjoy reading and it can take me 12months to read half a book if that but with this I read it from start to finish. Another author I really enjoyed was Minette Walters, not sure about feel good but I did enjoy her books

Tuesdays with Morrie, by Mitch Album is definitely a feel-good book. It is sad in places, but it is full of wisdom and will definitely make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. :)

If you like dogs read Marley & Me, love and life with the worlds worst dog. It will make you laugh and It will make you cry. I could not put it down.
