Putting in a different brand isn't a problem. The key is making sure the new RAM is compatible with your computer.
Many online RAM sellers have scanning tools which will check your computer, find what you already have in the way of RAM, and give you a list of compatible RAM sticks that they have for sale. If you stay with what the site says is compatible, you should be fine.
EDIT - To the thumbs-down troll: I'm speaking from experience. I'm the sysadmin at my workplace, and we've got a least a dozen machines here that have a combination of a manufacturer's RAM and RAM ordered from crucial.com. In all cases, I used Crucial's online scanning tool to make sure the new sticks were compatible. And there's never been a problem with any of them. Thumb in the eye to your thumbs down!

Yes, as long as it is the same speed, any brand of RAM will work together.

RAM will work regardless of manufacturer so long as it is the right kind of RAM that your computer uses.

Compatability is the issue. Good name brands should work fine, off-brands (Chinese) are a crapshoot. Traditionally Japanese or Korean are very good, Chinese are not quite up to their level of QC.

It may but its NOT recommended. Different brands usually have different timing settings which can result in instability.

Mostly, yes. Most times the manufacturer isn't important.
