There is a saying in the movie "True Romance" that says something like "Bad things can happen, but then so can good". This just happens to be the first screenplay Quentin Tarantino sold and he was working in a video store and didn't have a car at the time. (He also was living with his mother)

Probably be a good movie for you to watch. In that movie it seems like nothing could possibly turn out right for the young couple.

Look at why other people do an activity such as play golf. You think to yourself, "Now how can anybody like golf" Try to find out why people do like it. Or any other activity that people find enjoyable that you think is nuts.

If you don't screw up real bad and end up in prison you can turn your life around yourself. Go to rehab clinics to see how hard people who have been severly injured try to make their own success.

Find the things that make you excited, passionate, energetic. That's when you've found what you're living for. Then that's when enthusiasm comes naturally.
Anything else. you gotta make a conscious choice to be enthusiastic about it
