Yeah... they do the exorcism thingy, and the demons leave her.... and she dies.

The old priest does tries to perform an exorcism in her bedroom with her father, her doctor, and I think her boyfriend present. She becomes fully possessed during the ritual and jumps out her bedroom window. They all run outside and see her heading into the barn. Once in there, the priest tries again, but the doctor can't help because he is too freaked out. She succumbs to death because she believes that her death will let others know the meaning of love and sacrifice. She is certain however, she is going to be in heaven, with God, and this is what she is suppose to do, and the only way out. Meanwhile the old priest, is on the stand, in court, recalling what happened that night. He reads a letter that Emily Rose has written about all of this and her choice. The doctor is suppose to testify, but is killed. Her family is supporting the priest during the trial. Weird things are happening to the priest's lawyer in her apartment while the trial is taking place. Finally the jury comes back with a guilty verdict, but they recommend the priest be released. The judge agrees. The priest thinks of retiring from the church and the lawyer considers that maybe she does believe.

I've watched it, and it is just about the funniest movie ever, but anyway I'm pretty sure that she dies at the end, I don't really remember for sure, its been awhile.
