When you ask that question to people who spend all day text-messaging and writing words like cuz and wut, you have to expect responses equal to that level of thought. They are lazy and too tied in to their technology to do it right.

Well, I was thinking that same thing a couple of days ago, when recently the spell check thingy has been acting a little bit funny. Sometimes when I click it, it just spins and spins and spins and doesn't ever stop doing its check, and never offers any options to quit, either. So, perhaps other people have fallen victim to"The Spellchecker that couldn't", or something like that?

I totally agree with you, that is, I wonder the same thing. I mean is it really that much to take the time to either spell something right or at least use spell check which is so easily available when we are either asking or answering a question.
I think, like others have said, the answer is in the laziness of some that just don't want to or spell things wrong purposefully to annoy others. But honestly that seems such a ridiculous waste of time to me.

They are too lazy. And when they are called out on it, they get offended. Well, right here in this little text box is an option for spell check. I don't know if also, it is available for other operating systems, but whenever I spell a word incorrectly somewhere, anywhere I'm typing, there's a red line that underlines the word. How easy is it to just go to "Check Spelling"?

I'm not sure. I always try to use spellcheck though. I'm very precise about grammar and everything. I think they just assume that people will know what they are talking about even if they spell something wrong. But that's not always true!

Sometimes they forget. I know I do! But I like to try and remember. Answers that have incorrectly spelled words can make even the smartest person look stupid.

At least for me spell checker when asking a question only checks the "title" question box and not the additional detail box. Typical yahoo logic.

Possibly for the same reason they neglect the apostrophe in contractions.
