Is ammonia deadly if you swallow just a little bit of it?

Ammonia will form ammonium chloride in your stomach, which is an ingredient in cough medicine. I expect that it tasted pretty foul, but a teaspoon of dilute ammonia won't harm you. The concentrated stuff, now, would be a different matter...

I wouldnt think so, but seek medical advice right now. Theres a freephone number for NHS direct which lets you speak to a doctor before you annoy the A&E staff.
