Probably you need to upgrade your memory (RAM) and increase your page file size. You can increase the page file size by doing these steps:
1.Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
2.Click Performance and Maintenance, and then click System.
3.Click the Advanced tab, and then under Performance, click Settings.
4.Click the Advanced tab, and then under Virtual memory, click Change.
7.Click Custom size, and then type the recommended value in the Initial size (MB) box.
8.Type the maximum size that you want to allow for paging in the Maximum size (MB) box, and then click Set.
It's recommended to make the paging files size to be double your RAM size.
To know your Memory (RAM) size: Right click on "My Computer" icon and select Properties and you will find the size of you Memory there.
Hope this helps. Good Luck!

Either You computer is ready for spring cleaning or your document contiains an element that takes alot of space (pictures, videos, etc). Clear some documents you don't need/want anymore. Disk Defragment, Disk Clean up, so forth.

i would recommend defraging your disk as much as possible.
if you are using a computer built in lets say... the year 2000 and install win xp. the pc will be struggling making it slower and also if you are running out of room on your hard drive try uninstalling deleted programs and unused documents or save them to a cd.
