I love my best friend(as a friend), and I always want to talk to him. But it's almost to the point of being dependent on his e-mails, phone calls, letters, whatever. I don't want to be clingy, but I can't stop!!!!! HEEEEELLLLLLLPPPPPP!!!!

I used to have a crush on him, and I'm getting over it, and I'm forcing myself to not like him like that, BECAUSE he told me about a girl he has a crush on, and has told me how he loves me as his FRIEND (and obviously not his girlfriend)

DO YOU LIKE HIM FOR MORE THAN JUST A FRIEND???
SOUNDS LIKE IT.

Sounds like you need to add more to your life: more friends, more outside activities, more time with your family, etc. Why don't you try joining a team or club or a gym, something that interests you, without your best friend. It might be scary or awkward at first, but after a while, you're bound to expand your circle of friends and lessen your obsession with one person. I imagine creating more of an independent life of your own will only improve your friendship anyway since you'll have more to bring to the table and he won't feel suffocated.

Find somethings of interest to do. What do you love doing on your on. If you can't entertain and enjoy your own company then you will be dependent on people all your life.

Start by doing the small things on your own, like talking to someone else? From there your Independence will grow.
