Ok, you need to stick to one healthy dye like a Garnier and only use that... stop going back and forth. Maybe get a nice medium brown during this transition process.
Avoid blow drying your hair... I only blow dry it on Saturdays if I am going out... You are just burning your hair.
For shampoo and conditioner... buy the Garnier, and use the 3 minute deep conditioner every day. When you get out of the shower, comb your hair and apply a pea size amount of the Fructis Garnier Anti Frizz Serum.
Stick to this plan for 2-3 months. you will see a change.
If you want other options, go to a beauty supply shop and ask them, but my personal opinion is that they are going to wind up having you pick something for the profit... stick to this plan that I noted...
Then you can also research on sites like ivillage, home treatments that you can do to make your hair look healthier.
The key to have you hair look better is just like your body, it needs to be healthier.

Hi, what you need to do is get some cholesterol, you can buy this at wal-mart, or anyplace like that. Put that on your dry hair and then leave it on for as long as possible, a couple of hours would be great. Then you could use a semi perminant hair color, this will actually make your hair look healthier. But you really should leave it alone as long as possible and get a trim every couple of weeks until you can get the dead stuff off, because if you do the above steps your hair will look healthier, but it is just a look, underneath it is still very brittle, so be carefull. And do not go lighter, no light colors, no highlights, no bleaching, nothing like that for a while.

The problem is that you color it too much. I experienced the same thing. It's OK to color your hair every SIX months, not every TWO months. The chemicals in the dye will take the moisture out of you hair. So within the SIX months keep your ends clipped, plenty of moisture, and a good condition at least once a week. I would highly recommend that you focus on getting your hair healthy again and try not to dye it until you notice it's getting better. It may take a while though. Make sure you don't pull your hair back using rubber bands and don't use any chemicals other than conditioner and hair moisturiser. If it's really bad you may want to see a beautician. I know how you feel and I hope things get better for you.

Try hot oil treatments, like VO5.It comes in a small tubes. It's real easy to use. You just drop it in a glass of hot water & apply. It's been a few years since I've used it, but it says how to use it & how often you should apply it on the box(I think like 1-2x/mo.)
My hair was fried from perming & highlighting & after just 1-2 treatments, my was hair improved greatly.

I agree with the first answer too. You should always color a couple of days after it's been washed & never wash it right before you color . My hair stylist told me about that, it has something to do with the cuticle being open or something like that.

Buy a good deep conditioning mask, get either a hair plastic bag or use a trash can and sit under a dryer or use your hair dryer. This will help condition your hair. Do this a few times a week if your hair is REALLY bad. Use really good moisturizing shampoo and conditioner and maybe use a hair product that protects against heat of dryers and curling irons.

GEt a deep protein treatment like aphogee hair reconstructor protein or Nexxus Emergencee , Nexus can be found at your local drug store. Also use henna coloring if you want a darker hair color its healthier for your hair and can actually make it grow and add shine.

Stop coloring it.
Henna for hair gives your hair really good strength, and also colors the hair, but of course not as well as real dye. If you go to a natural food store, you can probably find henna for hair in special boxes and it has a variety of colors like auburn, red, chestnut, even black.
Also, use special shampoos for strength like Garnier Fructis.

Try using a good product like Aveda or Keune they are natural and won't hurt your hair! I have been coloring my hair for 11 years and it looks healthy as ever! Its the products that you use as well as the chemicals that you put on to color! I use ammonia free products and I am a red head so my hair is hard to color!

Good LUCK

I suggest that you give your hair a rest for at least 2 to 6 months. Let it heal so to speak and then dye it later on.
