i have installed the current avg 7.5. but my old avg 7.1 has been overwritten by this 7.5 if i delete my avg 7.1 folder from my c drive which is of no use
will it affect my system files.

This is what you should do. First go to "Add and Remove Programs" in the "Control Panel". Then look for "AVG Antivirus 7.1" and remove it. Also remove the newer version(7.5). Reset the computer. Then go back to the Grisoft web site and re-download the current version of "AVG Free Antivirus 7.5". That will be a "Clean Install" and you shouldn't have any problems with AVG. You can rename the icon on the desktop to "AVG 7.5" if you wish. Get all the updates, then do a complete scan.

Delete it all then just reinstall avg 7.5

No its just an updated version.. when you install it it will ask you if you want to overwrite files or not.... I did.. and it did not mess my pc in anyway.
