My 2 stroke does nothing but beep when ignition is turned on. Motor doesn't turn over, battery good and all seeable fuses are good. Did locate a blown voltage regulator and had to order part. This wouldn't make it not turn over ? Helfe !

one fuse under the cowling up high. if it's ok you need to check the switch, solenoid, starter...in that order. also you might want to make sure the engine isn't locked up...heaven forbid. never beat on a starter!!

Check at the starter to see if your getting power there when you turn the key. Could be the starter solenoid. Check all connections especially the grounds. The ground wire in a boat is usually a common wire that runs the leangth of the boat.

You need to check and see if you have all your ground wires on the battery. Not just the big ground wire but the little ones too. I did that once and I like to never figured it out. I had removed my battery leads and left a little one off and the motor was not grounding correctly.

Dead or stuck starter motor? Try tapping on it with a wrench or something while trying to turn it over.

If it still won't start, pull out the starter motor and hook it directly to the battery to see if it spins (try giving it a few turns - if it is hard to turn the bearings may be shot).

I always check the simple problems first. You may very well have dirty battery connections. Disconnect and clean them with a file or terminal cleaner brush. Failing that it may be connection on your starting motor or faulty wire between battery and the
starting motor.
