We live in a mobile home with slider windows, not windows that go up and down.

Do they make air conditioners that are meant for this style of windows? I hope so, as trailers can get beastly hot in the summer!

If so, where would I find this style in the US?

Yes sure they do! Any appliance store carries them, I see them all over the place. Just ask the salesman.

Most mobile home windows can be removed easily, usually by removing screws around the outside frame. You can fill in the left over space with plywood. The other alternative is to buy a portable unit that exhausts the hot air thru a tube like a dryer vent .

I suggest the use of an evaporative cooler (commonly known as a swamp cooler). They fit in the type of windows you have, are cost effective to operate and work very well in the heat of the summer. Most home & garden stores sell them
