Select Outlook for the email option

Click on the start menu in the bottom left corner > click on control panel > Add or Remove Programs > Set Program Access and Defaults > Custom > Choose my default e-mail program.

I recommend mozilla thunderbird instead of outlook (although it's really more of an alternative to the simpler outlook express - no calendar, etc.)

Go to Tools>>>Options>>>General

Clik on Set as default.
