They may not see it as confidence, many alternatives come to mind. With confident men you are generally free to argue a point (male or female), a lot of 'confident' women think that means they give the orders and you carry them out (male or female). That's not how it works if you have a balance of rights and responsibilities.

I'm not sure. I guess men and many other women expect woman to be the fairer and more nurturing sex. A boss of mine once told me it made me seem harder to approach by others b/c they were intimidated by me - I simply feel people should have a stronger ego than that if they want to approach me either way. I'm very laid back and easy going...I do work hard though and am all about business when working. It all depends on your level of business or drive to succeed. Many people prefer the confidence and drive. It all depends on the type people you're working or spending time with.

I think that shallow men and women are threatened because they cannot manipulate a confident woman.

In 2 words... Human Nature! it is easier to create negative energy then positive, just like its funner to be bad then good.
when a woman walks into a room other woman automatically pick her apart with negative thoughts... in other words HATING.
someone who exudes confidence usually brings out the worst in people who arent confident because they start feeling bad about themselves and their appearence even if they have no reason too, so when they feel bad instead of looking with in themselves they have to push the negative energy somewhere, namely being the bad azz chick that walked through the door that made those feelings in them.
men love it even though they say they dont want a chick that thinks she is "ALL THAT"
a man likes a challenge and a confident woman is the ultimate! dont think any different, i hope that we will all one day be confident and strong, and instead of HATING on the next chick... take notes!

people are prolly threatened by them because the women are so independent and know what they want! it intimidates others. but honestly anyone could be confident if they tried. It just depends on their self-esteem.

other women it may be because they wish they could be that way themselves and resent the confidence,with men I think some are intimidated and like to be in control of everything so that they get turned off when a woman isn't afraid to show her sexual side
