The culture(s) that degrade women - they aren't allowed to work, attend school, and must walk a certain number of paces behind their husband.

They need to change, now!

First let me tell you the ones I like. I love China and cannot wait to go there again this spring. We are also going to Tibet. The people are very friendly and happy people. I have been there twice and could live there if I liked the food. I will never go to the middle east because I do not like their way of life or the way that people are treated. Women being forced to wear tents is not civilized. Russia has never done anything for me but would like to see some of the museums. It seems like sucha negative and gloomy place. Will probably stay out of India it just does not seem clean enough. Mexico needs to clean up their act even though I love the food.

Obvious really... Fundamentalist Muslim
Prime example - Saudi Arabia.. Probably the most hateful place on earth if you like anything that's fun.

Most countries - even the despotic autocracies - will allow the 'average person' to go about their daily lives as long as you keep your head down and don't upset the wrong people.

In the Muslim theocracies, you cant do that. They have people who will SEEK OUT anyone who doesnt follow the strict muslim codes - unmarried lovers or beer drinkers for example. Under the Taliban, women were killed for driving a car, having a job or allowing their face to be seen in public

Hmmm...

Well, since most everyone in the US is foreign in the eyes of Native American Indians, I'd say that the culture of Manifest Destiny is the most revolting I know.

I also have low regard for The Vatican, Somalia and the culture that is growing on the cheese in my fridge right now...

An aspect of one foreign culture which I can't abide is the extremely cruel way dogs are trussed up and sold to eat in Korea.

I have no problem with any culture. I have a problem with the leaders of some countries (North Korea, Zimbabwe, the USA etc) but not with the culture of the normal, everyday people living under these despots.

Chinese. I just don't understand how such a strictly communist country can be so addicted to western culture. Their policy on human rights barely exists. I would not like to live there. It seems almost like Hitler's Germany with so many political prisoners and trivial executions. Tony Bliar may be a liar and a cheat, but at least I am free to say that.

Any culture which automatically assumes that it is superior to any other culture. Sorry to be corny or a Bible-basher but we were ALL created by God as equals, our cultures, customs etc are all EQUALLY fallible in His eyes. Also all cultures have their positive and negative aspects.

Fundamentalist extremists
in the middle east, living in the past with barbaric issues such as stoning's and death to an unfaithfully wife but not the man, decapitation, women killed because they walk around without having their entire body covered, they haven't changed in 3000 years. it is like living with cave men.
no interest if knowing anyone that practises this way of life.
