I am not able to play any sound file in the internet. (Say, http://french.about.com/library/media/wavs/bonjour.wav)

What could be the reason?

I know it is difficult to answer the question off-hand, without a background of the problem.

But are there some obvious mistakes I am making?

What are the internet browser settings I must change for the sound files to play?

Addl. info:

- I run IE 6.0 on a Win XP machine.

- My speaker is connected and works well.

(I can listen to the same .wav when I download them)

Are you trying to embed this file into your page, or just listen to it from the source page? It may be a problem with the HTML the page is written with.
