I have had up to two miscarriages, I was told by a ghynicologist that when miscarriages occur several times, it mean the tube has been blocked, that the pregnancy is staying where it suppose not to stay. Is this true?

there can be diffrent reason, the one u are reffering to seems like a tubal pregnancy

Reasons for miscarriage
Miscarriage isn't fully understood and some miscarriages just happen without explanation other than nature 'taking a hand' and expelling an embryo that is less than perfect.

Other possibilities include:

Blighted ovum - when a fertilised egg doesn't develop as it should.
Hydatidiform mole - this isn't a real pregnancy, as there's no fertilised egg. Instead, the body responds with pregnancy hormones to the development of collection of fluid-filled sacs growing from tissue that would have become the placenta if the pregnancy had been successful. An operation may be needed to remove the mole, but hormonal treatment is also available.
Problems with the cervix - the cervix starts to open, and the uterus contracts, pushing the baby out too soon, often before the 20 weeks.
Ectopic pregnancy - the embryo is developing in one of the fallopian tubes.

There are many things which can cause miscarriage.

One cause of miscarriage that I have personal experience w/ is anticardiolipin antibodies (also known as antiphospholipid antibodies). To my knowledge, these antibodies can cause clots in the placenta and lead to repeat pregnancy loss and stillbirth. If you have a family history of miscarriage or have had miscarriages yourself, it might be worth it to request testing for these antibodies (even if you have to self pay). The treatment is usually baby aspirin and shots of heparin or lovenox daily during pregnancy. I learned of my anticardiolipin antibodies before I was married and was able to request treatment right away w/ each pregnancy. I now have 2 beautiful healthy children. I had a strong family history of miscarriage and have had 2 myself.

Another cause can be low progesterone. Doctors can test progesterone levels after ovulation, but you can also detect it yourself by charting your fertility signs, espeically your BBT (basal body temperature). Low and/or erratic temps after ovulation can indicate low progesterone. That can be treated w/ OTC natural progesterone creams or prescription progesterone.

Another cause can be fragile x, I believe. I do not know much about it, but genetic testing is required on the miscarried fetus to determine it.

A tubal pregnancy is entirely different than a miscarriage. Tubal or ectopic pregnancies can be very dangerous b/c the baby can continue to grow until the tube ruptures which can cause massive bleeding. To my knowledge, tubal pregancy is not a common cause of miscarriage and is fairly rare unless your tubes are scarred or blocked.

If you are interested in charting your fertility signs, here are some good sources: Fertilityfriend.com (free software as well as a pay-for version and on-line charting turorial); ovusoft.com (discussion boards for many fertility related issues, much info on fertility after the pill, and a very good software for purchase). The books Taking Charge of Your Fertility (associated w/ the the ovusoft website and software), The Art of Natural Family Planning, and Garden of Fertility

I am sooo sorry that you have gone through this traumatic experience and more than once I don't know what i would of done that has got to be sooo hard!

What your doctor could be true and i think there are tests that they can do to prove this ask your doctor more questions and share your concerns with her.

A lot of times they don't know why miscarriages happen or premature babies come early. However you definitely HAVE to take it super easy if you try again make sure you don't have hardly any stress and let people know if they don't think you should be trying again to keep there opinions to them self only you know if it is right for you

It could be many different things. Stress, a bad pregnancy. But this little fact might help you deal with it. 50% of pregnancys are miscarried with out the mothers knowledge at all they just think their period is a little heavy. But there is hope also I was never supposed to have children, having 5 miscarriages before I successfully carried my oldest daughter. I think its just natures way of letting go of a pregnancy that is either a bad fetus, in the wrong possition, or could be harmful to the mother. Just keep praying and you will have a baby soon. Good Luck to you and I will say a little prayer for you right now that God will help you as he did me!!

what she means is that the zygote (baby) is not attaching itself to your uterine walls, but the lining of your fallopian tube perhaps, which is a no no, the baby cant grow since that wont expand, or if the baby grows youll get hurt, so your body which has your best interests in mind (and still the baby's) will abort the pregnancy to avoid two disasters.

but remember there are many many ways and contributing factors that lead into the fragile thing called miscarriage.

A cervix weakened by abortions/miscarriages lowers your odds. The doc can put a stitch in it to improve your chances. Alternatively:
If the embryo is implanting in the fallopian tubes it's not viable, the docs right there.

They can be caused by a number of things. If your worried I believe there is a procedure that will check to see if your tubes are blocked. If so, they can still do implantation and place the embryo in a better spot.

I'd believe your doctor...There are too many reasons for getting miscarriages, but if you are wanting to get pregnant, then you should go to the gyno or see a specialist and get tests done. That way you will find the real answer!! Good Luck
