I read a story years ago that i hae been curious if it was fact or not.

I think it took place in Minisota.

A young boy had just moved into town, and had never seen ice much less played hockey before.

The town had a minor league (pee wee) hockey team, and he for some reason wanted to try out for it.

He couldnt skate, and couldnt play hockey and the coaches realized this right off. But considering the town, he was made 3rd string goalie, knowing he probably would never see the chance to play.

The season went along and the team did terrible. They won a few games but mostly were disgrased.

The final game was coming up, and it was against the state champs, a game no one was looking forward to.

Within days of the game however, the first string goalie fell down stairs and broke his leg and the second goalie got sick (or something).

This left the goalie who had never played a single game so far.

Everyone was sure they were dead meat, and did not expect much from him.

well the first quarter starts and the state champs are skating circles around the team. They spend only seconds with the puck in their hands, and so the champs are taking shot after shot at the goal.

27 attempts are made, and surprisingly the boy blocks all of them.

second quarter begins and again a circus as the team is unable to keep the puck.

29 attemps are made and all are blocked.

by half time the coach is ready to pull him off the ice, he is nearly worn out.

the boy refuses to step out, and gets ready to play the final quarter.

some 20+ attempts are made, and again all are blocked.

in the final seconds however things would change.

by now the boy is beyond exaustiona nd can hardly stand up.

the two main scorers of the champs come in, fake a shot, pass it to the other and score.

final score 1-0.

the boy collapses on the ice. the two boys (the champs) come up and help him off the ice.

however the cheering isnt for the champs.

its for the kid

would not wonder me that someone would make up rumors about Pierzynski. Does he have ANY followers or perhaps acquaintances interior the events international? Cano is the finest target because he's not any longer in effortless words the most nicely rounded Yankee, yet between the most nicely rounded gamers interior the league. They comprehend Jeter would not take drugs at this level of his career and jeopardize his interest for baseball and the Yankees, and Teixeira and Granderson are like maximum different means hitters (many residing house runs, low overall), so Cano is truly the in effortless words different genuine standout on their offense. you even ought to imagine that a Yankee would get said because it may well be ordinary to trust, as 2 ex-Yankees were stuck and suspended by the league. What i'm conserving is this: the right 2 human beings were picked for a pretend tale, yet neither are on drugs.

I agree, sounds like a Disney movie. First, Manitoba is Province, not a "State". And, hockey games have three "periods", not "quarters"..... And, maybe the story is true because this happens all over Canada. No miracle.

i would say FALSE because if it was a true story the writer would of said PERIODS not quarter. in American Football you have quarters and in the NHL or hockey you have 3 periods. so the story sounds made up.

Gimaakwe>>>>>I think he means Minnesota .
