My mom told me that the 32, 34, and the 36 stand for the length of the bra not how big your chest is.

32, 34, 36 is the band size. This is the circumference of your chest, measured right below the bottom of the breast. A, B, C is the cup size - which is the actually size of the breast.

This means that the other person and you have the same breast size, but her rib cage is just slightly bigger than yours.

For the most part, your mother is correct. The numbers basically measure around your chest. However, a 34A would have a slightly larger cup than a 32A, just like a 36A would have a slightly larger cup than a 34A. The cup of a larger number bra wouldn't fit any more than the bra itself. However, an A looks like an A regardless of the number because it is in proportion to the person who is wearing the bra.

The number of the band is the measurement around your chest plus four (if the measurement is an even number) or five (if the measurement is an odd number).

So a 32 band size means a smaller chest than a 34 band size.

Men & women both have chests - that's the 32, 34, etc. The breast is the A, B (cup) part of the bra size.

Ok here's how it works. the 32 is the size of your rib cage measure under your breasts. They get the letter as follows. if your breast measure 1in larger than your ribs you = an A cup
2 in = a B cup and so on. So yes a 34A would be slightly larger than a 32A.

the cup size is for your friends
the size is what is wrapped around you!
so if you were to lay your bra out.. flat on the ground ..
and measure from one end to the other end it should be that number.. The cup is the Size of your breast.

thoses numbers are for the circumference of your chest under your breasts, the A is for some calculation for the difference between the chest circumference and the circumference around the breast area, but I forget how to do that.
