Last night I was working on my application of intent to take the CPA exam in Texas. My plan was to take it in July, however I discovered, to my horror, that I am 2 credit hours short of having 150 hours. I've met all the accounting requirements and I've met all of the business requirements for the exam. Does anyone in the Houston area have any suggestions as to how to get 2 more credit hours without it interfering in my studying (so I can still take the exam in July) and so I can take the hours at night or on the weekends or by distance learning? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

CLEP. Take a clep test. It will give you credit for a class.
http://www.collegeboard.com/student/testing/clep/exams.html
That site gives you descriptions of all the clep exams. That way you can get credit without having to actually take a class.
Another route would be independent study (LSU has a great independent study program through the mail. www.lsu.edu). But this would interfere with your study schedule because you'll have to turn in assignements take midterms and finals. So your best bet would probably be CLEP tests.

Maybe you can take a online class at your local college, or maybe your local community college offers it. Check around with your neighboring colleges and schools.
