I would certainly be more inclined to listen to that minister. The statement would be an indicator that the minister is not being influenced by societal trends. There are already a number of practices that are legal but not moral and are contrary to God's law as laid out in the Bible. Prostitution is legal in Nevada but I've never heard anyone defend it as a moral activity. You can buy and consume as much liquor as you want but no one defends alcoholism as a moral life. What is legal isn't always right and what is right isn't always legal.

I think you are confused between what is legal and what is a spiritual sin. It is legal to cohabitate but that, under the Christian view in accordance with the Bible, is still a moral sin. Just because it's "legal" does not make it "morally right".

"Christian" ministers condemn legal acts all the time. Mormons claim to be Christian, but condemn drinking any beverage containing caffeine. Southern baptists condemn dancing and any alcohol consumption.

Just because it is legal does not mean it is morally right. Abortion is legal, but not morally right. But before making a judgment about a specific situation you should look to the truth. The Bible. See what God says about a subject, then make your decision from there.

Funny how a book written by men becomes the word of God...hmmm
Especially when part of the book authorizes slavery, and killing for eating shrimp.

It depends on what it is.
I have heard preachers say that about Nickelodeon back when it was mostly older cartoons.
They are quite right when referring to Playboy and Girls Gone Wild and a whole slew of other things we accept as normal now.

No change.
They are merely interpreting the bible, as well as the teachings they have had.
So, to put it in simple terms, they have their opinion, and I have mine. They may differ, but I control my own destiny.
