the haunted story about "the vanishing hitchhiker" what was the actual day she died, and are her parents still living?

It's an urban legend they even have songs out for it. There is also a novel call "The Lady with the Velvet Collar" and in 1998 K-Mart made a commercial using the same story to advertise Route 66 jeans.

im not sure about what your talking about because there are alot of stories about a hitchhiker that vanished or died or was already dead. there was 1 in south america that was caught on tape where some people picked up a hitchhiker and a few minutes after the girl got in the car she faced 1 of the people in the car and half of her face was torn up or ripped apart. then the car crashed and killed the people in the car. theres also 1 where a girl was hit by a car wile walking on a road. and a few others pretty much the same story

There is no actual day she died nor any actual parents. This story is an urban legend, told and retold (almost always about a "friend of a friend") so many times that any original context (if any) for this tale has been long since obscured.

Hmmm, I only know the variation of the story---we have "Resurrection Mary" in our neck of the woods---and she was a polish immigrant from...the 1920's or something, so I doubt her parents are still alive.
But her story was true, there were newspaper reports of finding her body, etc. way back when.

This is an urban ledgend story, and it's told differently. Here. she died on Halloween at midnight. Or maybe that's the crybaby bridge thing, I'm not sure.
