Tom makes money by placing ads on sites, believe me as being a webmaster myself it's expensive to get a site online and sometimes you have to resort to placing ads to make money.. I know I have ads on my site which help pay for the hosting I have but it's cause I have free hosting, sure there are plenty of free non ad sites, but sooner or later they'll change an have ads on the sites to help pay for everything or they'll go under....

so in my long response that probably made no sense to you that's how tom makes money from myspace....

I think myspace was bought by another company, but Tom still does support for it so I'm sure he still gets a nice paycheck. Sites like that get money off letting companies advertise on their site, which is why you get about 10% of the space to write and the other 90% is just pure ads everywhere. People pay a LOT of money to advertise. That's how sites like that stay in business. Plus I believe myspace did another venture in the band label business.
