What is wrong with being sarcastic? Don Rickles and Sam Kinison made a living from doing that.

um.. if you think you're not sarcastic, then you must be right, because sarcasm doesn't come unknowingly does it?

Maybe you are easily frustrated or angered... which is why your words seem like sarcasm to people?

I'd suggest that you ask people how they meant you were sarcastic when they tell you so. If that doesn't work and you still don't get how you were sarcastic, then just for a few days think really hard before you say anything. If that helps then you can continue to do that until you cut down on speaking spontaneously.

sar·casm (sär'kāz'əm) Pronunciation Key
n.
A cutting, often ironic remark intended to wound.
A form of wit that is marked by the use of sarcastic language and is intended to make its victim the butt of contempt or ridicule.

ar·ro·gant (ār'ə-gənt) Pronunciation Key
adj.
Having or displaying a sense of overbearing self-worth or self-importance.
Marked by or arising from a feeling or assumption of ones superiority toward others

I think your probably more arrogant and say things sarcastically to others in order to make yourself feel smarter by making them look stupid. Eventually a big dose of humble pie will straighten you out, till then you'll probably be a jerk to most of those around you.

It's not about how you act at all. It has nothing to do with your confidence. It has everything to do with your smart mouth, cocky remarks that you make to people. If you want to change that then keep your mouth shut. Why change though? I'm sarcastic. There is nothing wrong with it.

So much confidence, especially if you demonstrate it, yes, it makes you sarcastic. Try to hide it just a little.

Much confidence is good. For you! For the others, it is not! Therefore, pretend humble. You know...

i dont really get whats wrong with sarcasm. maybe its because im english and i have a different sense of humor, but i just never get it when americans talk about sarcasm like its the height of rudeness. its just a form of comedy, whats wrong with it?! i know that some people are cocky and insincere, but thats a completely seperate thing from sarcasm. you CAN have 1 without the other!

rephrase the statement,eg instead of you are, say are you perhaps, tongue in cheek , meaning you tone says you don't really think they are.
for instance if you say
" litlle miss organised,You Are such an old soldier, just pplodding away all the time"."
change to:
."that's what i like about you , no matter what you always get through, just old soldier plodding away ".
smiling
make eye contact.
then the person will think you are sincere,.
then they will fall in love with you.
then they will start hanging around
STALKER IN THE HOUSE
sorry forget the last bit

well, its good to know you read my book, advanced sarcasism, rudeness even when its screamingly funny and all around nastiness. You can change thru prayer, just when something nastyish pops in your head and it will, just make a note in your head, shut your mouth, and write it down later. you will feel better and you will start to loose that rep and a self centered know it all. a little humility goes a long way

Just consider the source. Sometimes sarcasm is justified, especially if you are dealing with people who do not listen. Be yourself, don't let anyone influence you to feel bad about yourself.

Don't change yourself for anyone but yourself. Sarcasm is the spice of life, if people can't deal with it then it is their problem.
