Drivers side window wiper won't work, passenger side moves fine. I am guessing this means the motor is ok, and the problem is in the arm linkage system, is this a fair assumption? Any suggestions or words of warning before I start to tear apart my car?

make sure the arm is tight on the tranmssion for the wipers, this is a typical problem with these cars, if this is not the case, there is probaly a linkage rod that has come loose from the tranmssion under the cowl.

Well in my brother's 83 camaro, when I was young. The windeshield wipers on the passenger side worked fine and on the driver side, I had to hang out the window to see...lol ace ventura. I went to the repair shop and they replace the linkage and the wiper arm. So two dilemmas it might be.

Your assumption is probably right as both wipers are normally ganged together. You will probably have to remove the wiper arms and the vent plate to expose the wiper mechanics. It really should
be a simple repair.
