Not in a particular order:

1. Madea Goes to Jail - I laughed so hard I almost cried, but it also had a serious good storyline
2. Dodgeball - Hilarious.
3. Anchorman - Because it wasn't too dirty, and it took an occupation that it considered semi-serious, and made it completely hilarious.
4. Scary Movie 2 - Very Dirty. Very Funny
5. Crank - I don't think it was meant to be a comedy but I was dying when I saw this movie, it was too funny
6. Happy Gilmore - Bob Barker scene... need I say more

The Jerk - most Steve Martin movies will have you rolling on the floor but this one is one of the most quoted and is a classic.

Airplane - Leslie Neilson is a master of comedy!

Hot Shots, Hot Shots Part Deux and Hot Shots 33 1/3 - ibid...

Blues Brothers and Blues Brothers 2000 - most people I've spoken with have never seen the sequel, anticipating it won't be as good as the original, but there are parts in it I find to be better than the first - the 10 year old boy dead-pans, dances and performs like the best of them and the Louisiana Swamp Witch is awesome!!!

( Not in any order because i love them all )
1. Dodgeball - Vince Vaughn and Ben Stiller. Need I say more?
2. Napoleon Dynamite - No one seems to think this movie is funny but i laughed soo hard! Definitely one of the funniest movies I've ever seen.
3. The pest - John Leguizamo was hilarious in this movie!
4. I can only think of three so the third one will have to be something only semi-funny, so Clerks 2.

Comedy should be as high-brow as dramas are. Dumb isn't funny (vis a vis Adam Sandler, Will Ferrell, Ben Stiller, Jim Carrey). Three of the four movies I list are 30 or 40 years old, and they're _still_ funny today.

When Mel Brooks was at his peak:

"Blazing Saddles"
"Young Frankenstein"

And others:

"A Fish Called Wanda", one of few comedies to win Academy Awards

"Dr. Strangelove" Most memorable was, George C. Scott. He said he played it straight, he wasn't trying to be funny.
