What browser are you using? If it's Firefox, you can left-click the offending item and "remove" it! (Or for more control, View --> Toolbars --> Customise)

Ok, here is an example: You write something in google search bar, then what you do is;press bottom arrow on your keypad and then press delete...And if you want to delete something on your search web bar then go to 'tool' above your screen, e.g follow 'file' 'edit' etc...then go to 'internet options' and delete the 'cookies' and 'history'...'history' is the sites that you searched or visited...hope this helps...
